If you are planning to work, study, do business, or bring your family to the UAE and your documents were issued in China, you must get them authenticated (also known as attested) before they are legally recognized in the UAE.
This blog explains the full process of document authentication from China for UAE visa or legal use, step by step.
What Types of Chinese Documents Need Authentication for UAE?
Educational Certificates – Degrees, diplomas, transcripts
Personal Documents – Birth, marriage, divorce, and death certificates
Commercial Documents – Company licenses, power of attorney, contracts
Step-by-Step Process for Authentication
Step 1: Notarization in China
Get your document notarized by a local Notary Public Office (公证处) in the city or province where it was issued.
Step 2: Certification by Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Submit the notarized document to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China (MOFA China) for official authentication.
Step 3: UAE Embassy Attestation in China
Once certified by MOFA China, the document must be submitted to the UAE Embassy in Beijing or the UAE Consulate in Shanghai or Guangzhou for final attestation.
Step 4: Final MOFA Attestation in UAE
Once the document arrives in the UAE, submit it to the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA UAE) for the final stamp. After this, your document is legally valid for visa, job, study, or business use in the UAE.
